Messenger is a Christ centered Christian Rock music ministry based in Rockford, Illinois.
Why this name?
Our original music conveys the Message of Jesus Christ as the Author of all things. We are only His Messenger. Hence the name.
Do you play live?
We have been playing Christian coffeehouses in the N. Illinois / S. Wisconsin area for the past year. We love ministering in person. Watching people worship God through our music is as special as it gets.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet provides the opportunity for bands such as ours to reach a global audience for Christ. People who may not have access to the Message of Jesus in another format can hear about Him here.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the terms were favorable and fair. God is in charge of directing this band, and we wouldn't sacrifice that control for dollar signs.
Your influences?
Our major musical influences are far from the music we play. The 70's & 80's hard rock and metal bands provide the style we follow. Christ provides the lyrics. It's definitely an interesting mix.
