First of all let me say, I'm not a band, I'm a music writer/producer hoping to make a living from my music. I was a regular at the Hippo club in Cardiff until they pulled the place down (idiots that they are!!) the best club I have EVER been to in my life. I have been working in and around the dance/house scene for a number of years having worked for a top UK & International DJ. I was bitten by the writing bug about six years ago but things never really started to happen until 1999. I love 'proper' clubbing - raves, Gatcrasher and Godskitchen etc.
Why this name?
I'm usually called Mick, along with many other things. Some of my friends started calling me Mickster after a UK TV show and it developed in to Mixstar (mix & star? if you believe that!!)
Do you play live?

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It certainly opens up the world of music to a vast audience. It has given me the chance to have my music aired. I had a No.1 hit on internet radio for twelve weeks with one of my choons 'Better World & I currently have a No.7 with 'No Prisoners' from my album of the same name.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most definately.
Band History:
I used to be a rocker but was really fed up with the scene (too many 'does my hair look good' people) It seemed to be going nowhere and I was introduced to electronica in the late 80's. The rest is history.
Your influences?
Jon the Dentist, Tony de Vit, Paul van Dyk etc. etc. Anything that is in the 'Mixstar' style of get up and go dance music be it trance, power trance or hard house.
Favorite spot?
Mmm dunno, cricket probably. SPOT, Oh I see!! Cardiff UK
Equipment used:
2.4 gig PC/1gbRAM etc. Soundblaster Platinum pro. Cubase, some Ejay and odd's & ends of other music software. Two keyboard synths and the list goes on.
Anything else...?
