The Dead Cellars- Are no more- HOWEVER!!!! Their music lives on in the form of Liverpool based The Blue Casket- find us on SoundClick under The Blue Casket UK - Thanks for the support!!
Why this name?
I saw a company on ebay called Dead Sellers and thought it sounded quite funky!
Do you play live?
Yep- In and around Leeds
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mp3 is just a better way of spreading your music. It all depends on what you play music for really, for me, music is all about entertaining and the more people that we entertain the better! If you're playing music for a living I can understand why some people might get a bit annoyed that music can be stolen so easily.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I don't know, I quite like the idea of independant labels, it means that there are few middle men to rip off consumers. You only have to look at bands like Guns n' Roses to realise what major labels can do to bands, their label is releasing stuff even though they don't want it to be released. I would never want to be at the point where we have no control over what we produce.
Band History:
We've been through many guises, at first it was the "Solar Sights" which changed to "Teddy and The Balifs" and we realised that was lame so we changed it to "The Dead Cellars". We have recorded a few tracks but we probably aren't tight enough to make big, personally I see it as a lot of fun and helps to develop my creative side. I'm going to uni next year and I really want to form a band and take it seriously. The Mp3s that I am going to post at first will just be songs I put together myself with a multitracker. UPDATE The tracks are still tracks I have put together.
Your influences?
The Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Clash, The Ramones, Godsmack, Metallica and a shed load of unsigned Leeds bands like Catylyst, Mr. Shiraz, Mr. Dogg and a Bradford band call the Psychosonic 3 (This band is off the scale as far as musicianship is concerned go to their web site http://www.psychosonic3.com, when they get their site up and running and you will see what I mean)
Favorite spot?
Probably Leeds, havn't seen anywhere like home yet.

I use Pearl Drums- Marshall MGFX100 amp - Ibanez SA120- Honer Marlin amp for Vocals- Fender Jazz bass- Apple's Garageband for recording- PowerMac G5 w/ JBL Creature II speakers!
