Xylotones is a band based on the premise that music shouldn't contain any bounds. As a result the music created by Xylotones is an eclectic menagerie of folk tunes, ditties, classic rock and roll, electronica and everything in between.
Why this name?
Xylotones represent something that sounds fresh but also classic and funky.
Do you play live?
Not yet. All Xylotones music has been created in the FogAudio project Studio in Newport, RI.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows much more freedom of distribution to the fans. I think music should be shared to the community and enjoyed freely. Whatever the fans can give back or would like to do to give support to the band without having to pay exorbitant overhead to corporations and fat cats directly impacts the artists and nothing but the artists, thus allowing them to create music at their pace and on their own ground. The internet can and will allow for this opportunity.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Don't know.
