Band History:
Culprit’s been blessing the underground streets of Massachusetts with banging beats produced by Iroc for almost a decade, merging different genres of music to create a unique sound. Starting in the bedroom of his apartment Ceo and founder, Iroc wrote music and lyrics with his co owner’s brother, Jon doe and longtime friend, bad guy. After building there own studio spending years recording and seeing the response they were having locally they formed culprit. The trio soon after released there own music independently to great response from the streets and the radio via college radio and local DJ support. In 1998 the first culprit records release the product’s self titled album “the product” sold many units and made the way for so many Cambridge rappers and companies today. Since then culprit has stepped its game up both musically and business wise.
Jon Doe is what you would describe as the M.C.’s M.C. If you’re that cat hungry for 16 bars of street life or, you’d prefer a complete songwriter then he’s you’re dog. Rhyming since the age of 11, he would go on to be a founding member of the "PRODUCT", a three man group consisting of producer and M.C. IROC, The Bad Guy and himself Jon Doe. You can hear him on the ghetto certified L.P. “ IROC and Jon Doe (brotherly love)” Where he spits heart felt lines like “thru intense lyrics, I reminisce on my genesis, the good times and various trials I experienced, you and I remained…” Or on the new IROC and Jon Doe release "The Uprising" where he lets it be known not to test his clique. However you take your Hip-Hop you will surely agree that his in your face style is exactly what the game needs.
Iroc , was born in the mid seventies to young parents in the south .he was the middle of three siblings. He was quiet as a child but loved music at a very young age. After ma dukes moved her two boys to the north for the city music really took hold. After growing up in Dorchester and Roxbury’s academy homes his mom moved again this time to Cambridge .by 8th grade Iroc was DJing at local parties and rapping and writing rhymes daily. In high school he met friend and future group member, bad guy and they shared a love for writing that he shared at home with his brother. Influenced by the streets and the music in his head Iroc started making the tracks for the group and there friends to rap on, finding a new love for production and equipment. After years of soaking up the music game and making hot music they formed the product and the rest is history. Irocs flow is like no other he has gems like ;
“Last time ni**az seen me I was out on that ave trying to break that b*tch in half with a gloc and a block and a half”.from the under ground smashtapiece "72 bars" from the Iroc n Jon Doe presents...The Uprising mixtape cd
But on the beats dude is sick with his think Preemo meets Rza meets Neptunes meets P Diddy at Dre’s crib and you got a Iroc instrumental. The kid is definitely a franchise player.
