Basically thee name was picked based on a members feelings towards his mother. A lot of our songs were written based on his feelings towards the mom who disowned her only son. Other members feel the name reflects some personal feelings towards certain things, like they felt nothingm they were Numb.

We have played a few live shows. At fairs and at colleges and in backyards. We like playing in backyards.

We think it lets bands be able to promote their talent to many people and gets their name out there. It also gives us a sense of being recognized, even if it's only by your friends.

Numb got started in 2001 and only consisted of the lead guitarist and the lead vocalist. After a good while, a girl drummer was added. She played better than some guys that tried out. The second singer was a friend of the band's but they never knew he could sing. After some practices, he became a perfect addition to the band.Numb went for a long time without a bass player. Live shows were even played without one . Then came along Big Nick, a mutual friend of all the band members, came to the band and asked if he could join. After discussing it and practices he is now a member and Numb. Which is now complete. They feel that with their melody in their songs and heavy/sad and emotional music to back it up, they can become something big. Numb wants their music to reach every person On some level. Be it anger or sadness,and so on. Numb is committed to being the best they can, while at the same time loving what they do. A 10 song demo is soon to be complete, consisting of better songs than is on this website. They have grown as a band and with that the music has matured, offereing a new sound, a bigger and better sound for all those wanting to listen.

We are influenced by Korn, Metallica, Systematic, Scars of life, Deftones, Staind, Papa Roach and so on...
