INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION WAS A PRELUDE FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL MUTATION OF MANKIND.
TODAY PRE-MADE THOUGHT PATTERNS CREATE A NEW KIND OF HUMAN BEHAVIOUR. PEOPLE DON'T ACT AS INDIVIDUALS ANYMORE, BUT AS GROUPS. EVEN THOUGH, THEY ARE PROGRAMMED TO THINK NO ONE IS EQUAL TO ANY ONE. NEVERTHELESS, OUR BLINDNESS REACHES RECORD LEVELS IN ALL OF HISTORY.
IN THE BACKGROUND, TECHNOLOGICAL EVOLUTION MAKES HUMANITY MORE AND MORE DEPENDENT ON SCIENCE AND ENERGY, AND LESS IN CONTACT WITH OUR PRIMAL ESSENCE AND NATURE. TECHNOLOGY'S INFLUENCE CREATES A GROWING ALIENATION OF OUR REAL POSITION IN THE WORLD, AND URBAN ENVIRONMENT GENERATES STRESS IN PEOPLE'S MINDS WITH ITS NON-STOP CLAIM FOR ATTENTION. EVERYTHING IS NOISY, DISTURBING, VIOLENT, STRONG. EVERYONE'S PHYSICAL SENSES ARE OVERWHELMED WHILE OUR SUBTLE CAPACITIES TO FEEL ARE COMPLETELY UNDEVELOPED. THE CONCEPT OF THIS MUSIC IS TO SUGGEST TRANSCENDENCE OF THIS OVERWHELMED STATE OF SENSES BY SHOWING SUBTLENESS BEYOND NOISE, THUS MAKING PEOPLE ABLE TO SEE, HEAR AND FEEL THE O R D E R BEYOND UP TO DATE, COMPLETE CHAOS.

Dark, progressive and minimalistic Techno, with an old school industrial flavor. It sometimes sounds like, but it's NOT Minimal Techno, it's more similar to Schranz (German dark techno) or Prog Tek than Minimal. Anyway, the music is very individual, mixing hard beats with tripy and slow melodies.

Why this name?
The name is made of 4 letters, as a graphical message. qpdb are the alphabet letters that resemble the musical notes, as a code for electronic interaction of information. Put together as they are, they form symmetrical images, one pointing up, the other down. It' more or less my way to interpret the yin yang diagram musically.
It also has something to do with my creation concept. I like randomizations, to let the computer actively interfere with the creation, to let listeners wonder if a certain melody is fruit of composition or randomizations. I use both, putting the advantages of today's technology to my favor. The result is a mixture of man-machine music, that is the essence of techno.

Do you play live?
As often as i have the opportunity!! I love playing live, it's just as fun as it can get. I also like to feel the vibe the music makes, as after sometime producing a given song, i kinda get used to it... it' always great to see the reaction of fresh listeners!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I really like the possibility of anyone get and promote any song in the world. I'm completely for free distribution of information and entertainment. I think artists have been too much deceived and explored by big record industries for too long, now. It's time for the $$$$ to go to the really deserving hands.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It would always depend on how free I would be to produce. There are different kinds of labels, the ones that see music only as a means for growth of economic power and market development (and even domination), and others that clearly support true artists, that use their work as means for self-knowledge and communication. Essentially, market-oriented labels don't work very well with artists that are unpredictable (and every artist that searches for new concepts and paradigms MUST be), because they're not sure if what he is going to make will be mass-saleable. I just couldn't work with a market oriented label, but would love to work with a balanced one, that wants to survive (therefore sell) but supports true artits.
Band History:
fell in love with techno and the number of paradoxes it contains, and started making some. Such a human music only being played by machines show a new level of control over music: the mind control. The ability to synthesize any sound is also breathtaking, so electronic music in general has opened a really vast (infinite?) spectrum of abstract and imaginative musical creations. this is simply wonderful.
Your influences?
Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer, UMEK, Chris Liberator, Ben Sims, Ritchie Hawtin, dj Rush, Valentino Kanzyani, Monika Kruse, Pump Panel, Pascal FEOS, Stanny Franssen.
Pantera, Skinny Puppy, Fear Factory, Ministry, Nail Bomb, Sepultura...
and a LOT of other people. But the music is also very personal. It always MUST come from inside.

Favorite spot?
São Paulo (taking the fuc#in traffic out of it). The electronic scene is massive over here, that's what i love about it.
Equipment used:
FL Studio 8, lots of vst and dxi plugins and my voice.
Anything else...?
thanx for dropping by!! i'd like to communicate with anyone interested in politics (counter-culture) and philosophy, who's as angry as me to see how people in this world love their f***ing blindness. Send an e-mail (don't be shy!) to: qa.doom@gmail.com
