These are my beats. I dig up old records, take the sounds I like. Then I re-arrange 'em as I like. I don't know the first thing about mixing 'em down or mastering or anything. So the sound quality is pretty shitty. But I don't care and just rely on saying I like 'em real grimy or something like that.
Why this name?
My name's Wally, and in '97 Rodney Dangerfield came out with a movie called "Meet Wally Sparks." So people just started calling me that. But I changed it from Sparks to Sparx because that's what the cool Hiphop kids do.
Do you play live?
Yes, I play live. Typically representin at a Hiphop Congress event or at a house party near you. Or playing with my favorite band, Perfect Strangers.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
You can hear people like me make crappy music with very little promotion.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if they buy me cars and houses which I'll pay the price for later and never see any proceeds from my music sales.
Band History:
I've been a DJ for quite a few years now, but am newjack in the ways of making beats.

DJ Premier, Pete Rock, DJ Jazzy Jeff, D-Styles, and all the artists that I sample.
Favorite spot?
Diggin at the swapmeet.
Equipment used:
Akai MPC-60 (stock OS v.2.02, no upgrades), Numark TTX-1, Rane TTM-56, and lots and lots of records
Anything else...?
the names of my tracks don't mean anything. they just describe the diskette they're on so i don't forget.
