Hello, my name is coyote jones. i play some country and some folk. you can call me coyote. and that's pronounced "ky-yoh-tee", not "ky-yoat." yes i was born and raised in texas, but i give respect to the men who walked this land before i did, and i'll thank you to kindly do the same.
Why this name?
Coyote Jones is my birth name. some people call me "coyote saint cool", but that's just more of a nickname thing. just call me coyote.
Do you play live?
sometimes i play for my friends. i have done an open mic night or two and plan to do more in the future. then maybe something bigger. who knows.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i'm a simple man. down to earth. i don't know much about all this computer technology. but what i do know is love. i sing about the trials and tribulations of being a man. a simple man. down to earth.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
most likely. give me the papers and we'll talk.
Band History:
when i was a young lad i was a bit of a scoundrel and one day i was snooping around in my grandpa's house. i found his acoustic guitar in his closet and closed the door and sat in there and tried to play. he heard the sounds from his room and swung the door open, took his pipe out of his mouth and said, "coyote, son, get out of that closet and put the guitar on the bed and go pick a branch off the tree for me to whip you with as your punishment." i got on my haunches and howled at the top of my lungs. he was so impressed and stunned that he gave me that guitar and i use it to this day.
yes, i was a cowboy once, and now that i have reinvinted myself as a hard-working troubador, i plan on winning your heart in the old fashioned way.
