Well, I'm not a band...just a guy at the piano working to get the music from my fingertips into the hearts of listeners, and in the the process, striving to make the solo piano concert an exiting and moving event...not an excuse for a nap.
Why this name?
My parents gave me my name.
Do you play live?
I am planning to return to concertizing in September or October of 2002 in Kannapolis N.C., hopefully at the GEM theatre(1938 vintage theater, now utilized as local moviehouse)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's put the music more in the "hands of the people", a good thing, for both artist and listener
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It would all depend on the small print of the deal, and who wrote it, me or them...
Band History:
These are the "cliffs notes", if you would like more information, please feel free to e-mail me.
piano lessons from age 4 - 10th grade, Berklee College of Music,Boston Mass. (1986-88), private study with 2 more "master class" teachers in the late 80's through the mid 90's.
Composed original scores to 6 theater productions in North Carolina and Minnesota
Your influences?
My influences range from Billy Joel to Scriabin and Mozart and Vladimir Horowitz to Peter Gabriel and 80's pop...many influences are not musical in nature, such as conversations with friends that somehow get translated into music, visual art as well.
Favorite spot?
Behind a well prepared, in tune, and responsive piano...with you listening.
Equipment used:
Considerations was recorded on my personal piano, a Yamaha C7F concert grand, prepared and regulated by Bill Clayton, Guild technician
Anything else...?
Enjoy life and music and smile once in awhile!
