The project "PocketteRockette" was started in 2001 by PocketteRockette (real name confidential), who lives in Hattiesburg, MS, USA. PocketteRockette has been composing music only since 2000, and his work is done entirely on the PC utilizing Sonic Foundry, EJay, Fruity Loops, and Rebirth. PocketteRockette's arsenal includes tunes that could be classified as Dance, Club, Techno-Trance, Ambient, and Funk, but it is all home-grown Electronica. Relatively new to the scene, PocketteRockette has seen his music grow slowly but steadily in popularity. In May, 2002, the Online Music Magazine "Shattered Dreams" featured a review of his work and had the following to say about it: "I just finished a review to share with the fans of electronic music, and I DO mean electronic! The music of Pockette Rockette is true 'Looper Style Stuff' created by doing the software thing on a PC. This style of song writing has been blazing a trail to the charts and does take a lot of creativity to make music this way for sure. The artist is confined to pre-created loops and sounds and from there, the foundations are laid for the ear-candy. Pockette Rockette has created some very nice grooves for the rest of the class to listen and move their bodies too. I found the mixes to be good, the beats strong, and the creativity is for sure there. The cross fades of some of the changes do bleed into each other here and there, but that is the nature of the electronic beast. This music is still worth a listen and it did not disappoint either my imagination or my ears." Scott Michael - Shattered Dreams Music Magazine - May 2002 He also became associated with NMA promoter "InterConnected" and DJ SpaceAce of the project "Y-Orbit" through MP3.com in the same month, and is now a proud member of same. Make no mistake; PocketteRockette is not a hard-core professional - his work is primarily done as a hobby, and he hopes people enjoy it for what it is in general - butt-movin', foot-stompin', mind-pleasin' sound. He has no delusions that he is making some kind of a difference in the endless sea of amateur and professional artists doing electronic music - just making music and having fun. The rhythm and vibes of his music are easy to listen, dance, or chillout to. It is an across-the-board blend of synthesized, electric, and funky beats and grooves. You can feel the influences from a variety of other styles like Jazz, Pop, House, Rock, Drum & Bass, Industrial, R&B and of course "4 on the floor" Club. If PR could reccommend one motto we, as a human race, should all strive to achieve, it would be that given to him by his good friend and colleague DJ SpaceAce -"Groove The World In Peace!"
