From:North Carolina/East Coast
Age:26 yrs
Time on Mic:11 yrs
Time making Beats:8 yrs
Grew up on Mantronix, Minutemen, Bad Brains, Beasties, Run DMC, Tom Waits, Fishbone, Public Enemy
Started making Hip-Hop and freestyling in my Dad's attic with some crappy stereo equipment, a corny synth, and a Gemini 12-sec DJ sampler.
Now I'm using Acid Pro 4.0, a Korg, just got a new mic, so expect a sound quality upgrade>>>
Why this name?
SHAM: Short for Shamrocka (my original MC name)Partly for Irish blood, partly cuz my Lyrical impact is like a punch from Ken Shamrock [POW!!!]
GRAMMAR: My Area of Expertise, My most Comfortable Medium, My Middle Name, My Birth Rite [no relation to Kelsey!!]
Do you play live?
Hell Yeah!! Anywhere I can get to, with whoever will let me.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Drastically: How else would people that I don't know in places I can't be get a chance to hear my music?? Plus you can download rarities you may never have a chance to purchase or dub....
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
With the following stipulations: -Complete Artistic Freedom, -Unrestricted Lyrical Content(not offensive language as much as social/political views,etc.)-And Absolutely NO Product Endorsements(other than my CDs,of course)That said, I'd love to make the music my bread-winner!!
