JeWop is Adam Safer and Steve Caglianone. We are a culturally integrated hardcore rock duo from Florida and Georgia. Our music combines bass, drums, and vocals.
Why this name?
We're a Jew and a Wop.
Do you play live?
Yes, we play live. We play mostly in Florida - around the Orlando area - and Savannah, Georgia - but have been as far North as New York and as far West as San Diego, CA. Our live shows define us.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet makes it possible for anyone to hear music from anywhere in the world at a click. No longer do people have to buy an album without knowledge of what they're getting into, unless they want.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Band History:
Adam Safer and Steve Caglianone are the culturally integrated, hardcore rock duo JeWop. Formed in 2001, their music combines bass, drums, and vocals. Originally a native of Savannah, Georgia is bassist/vocalist Adam Safer. Safer's unique playing style manifests itself in his distorted bass frequently sounding like both guitar and bass at once. A former student of bassist Beaver Felton, Safer cites a diverse group of influences – ranging from Slayer to Jaco Pastorius. Such influences can be heard in his speedy, riffing solos. Safer’s vocal style is somewhat reminiscent of Henry Rollins and his nonsensical, tongue-in-cheek (if not sometimes disturbing) lyrics are delivered with an enormously candid intensity. The drumming of Steve Caglianone is equally powerful and complex. He cites John Bonham and Steve Perkins as major influences on his playing style. Originally from New York City, Caglianone studied with Bobby Rondinelli (from Warlock, Rainbow, and Black Sabbath). Caglianone also successfully gigged in the NYC area for several years with various bands (ie. Roadside Prophet and SuperGenius).

JeWop has played with such acts as: North Carolina's ASG, Jucifer, Valient Thorr, Pepper, The Supervillians, Gen XX, Queen Mary and David Pastorius.

The result of the Safer/Caglianone combination is a sound that is uniquely full – an unexpected sound for a two-man band. The music of JeWop is aggressive, in-your-face, and (at times) over-the-top.
Your influences?
Slayer, Kinghorse, Jaco Pastorius, John Bonham, Steve Perkins
