The Jonny Yen Collective is always me (Jonny Yen), along with other contributors. So far I've worked with my former bandmates 'Mojo' Hamilton (Bass), 'The Dingo' (Drums and Guitars) and a DJ, Rob Long.
Why this name?
Poor old Jonny Yen set himself on fire again... metaphorically speaking.
Do you play live?
Have played live. Several times at the Talking Heads (Southampton, UK) -- including their monthly showcase -- and at the George Inn (Andover, UK). I think the showcase gig was the highlight, everything just clicked that night.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it easier for artists to be heard, but easier to disappear into the background.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'd be careful about the terms, but yes, if the deal was right it'd be silly not to.
Your influences?
James, Sonic Youth, Neil Young, Lemonheads, Nirvana
Anything else...?
The boy Yen is now based in Australia.
