Parodx, baby. Hey, I'm a solo musician that makes parodies of other songs just like "Weird Al" Yankovic. I mainly focus around rap parodies although I have been known to do hip-hop parodies also...you know, just to give it some variety ;) Everything I do is a blessing from God and I thank Him so much for what He has allowed me to do. I just record for fun, so I'm not trying to make myself famous or anything, it's just a hobby.
Why this name?
Parodx -- you're not quite sure whether I mean "parody" or "paradox"
Do you play live?
Nope, never gone live...other than that time in the back of Ron's van...and I did Cleaning Out My Closet in my math class...that was great...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it more accessable to everyone! Now people can express and obtain new feelings and views that they couldn't have if it wasn't for the internet. It allows artist like myself to express our ideas, our comedy to the world without being signed to a label.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm just recording as a hobby, I don't intend to beocme a parodist by profession, but if a label approached me, I'd sign ;)
Band History:
I don't really have a history as an artist. I just started recording with a few friends over the internet, Mad Genius (Ruben and the Novelty Shack) and Weirdo Jace of Nuclear Bubble Wrap. I just keep rapping and hope I'm getting better.
Your influences?
"Weird Al" Yankovic, more than anyone, of course. My favorite style which I emulate the most is em and G-Unit type rap.
Favorite spot?
California
Equipment used:
I record with an Audio-Techniqua ATR-20 and I mix my songs with Adobe Audition 2.0
Anything else...?
I'd like to thank Jesus for everything he's done for me. Without him, I wouldn't even be able to crawl out of bed, much less record parodies that I think are quite funny. God has blessed me in so many ways, whether or not musical talent is one of them or not, you can be the judge.
