Powerful heavy rock laced with melodic, and dynamic grooves.
Why this name?
We wanted a name that no other band would even think of. Joe found the name doing some reading of a Dracula Book. The Borgo Pass is a passage way thru the Carpathian Mountains that was used by Vlad the Impaler (Dracula).
Do you play live?
We always are playing live shows. Thats what it's all about! We love playing as much as humanly possible. We have opened up for many major acts some include Type O Negative, Anthrax, SuperJoint Ritual, Clutch, Kittie, Life of Agony, BioHazzard, Kings X, The Misfits, Unida, Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Dokken, and many more.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It exposes the bands music to a much wider audience. It is F'n Great!!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Where's that freakin' pen?
Band History:
Borgo Pass Biography
Powerful heavy rock laced with melodic, and dynamic grooves is how New York's Borgo Pass describes their sound. As a five piece band formed in the mid 90's, Borgo Pass has built themselves a large loyal fan base with their grooving infectious sound. They have also created quite a buzz in the heavy music scene as a force to be reckoned with now, and for a long time to come. Borgo Pass cites hard rock from the late '60's and '70's and mixes it together with a more modern and aggressive approach, with realizations of everyday life as their main influence. The band's second self-produced album "Powered by Sludge", released in early 2000, was extremely well received by their ever growing legion of fans, creating a feeding frenzy of downloading on MP3.com. The album became critically acclaimed worldwide, being named one of the top 10 albums of 2000 by the Netherlands' Aardshock Magazine! In the last year alone the band has shared the stage with the likes of Type O Negative, SuperJoint Ritual, Clutch, Kittie, Life of Agony, BioHazzard, Kings X, The Misfits, Unida, Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Dokken, and many more. The band had their first self-sufficient tour of the Southern United States in Oct-Nov. Currently Borgo Pass has just finished their long awaited 5 song EP under the guidance of producer and Ex-Scatterbrain guitarist Paul Nieder. The sessions produced 5 sludgehammer tracks featuring "Shame" & "I've Been Down". If you enjoy music that is powerful, diverse, and emotionally charged, then you must experience this roller coaster ride of the senses called Borgo Pass.
