This story began with Adam and Damian meeting Gareth, Daniel and Nathan through mutual friends and getting drunk many a time (whilst singing Build me up Buttercup). One day during a discussion they decided that their bands should join together (Adam and Damian's band Minus Bob needed new members following Stuart Thomas's shock departure to America and Nathan, Gareth and Daniels band, which was unnamed, needed a new bassist and a new drummer, and a name) and then Minus Bob was re-born. After a few gigs with which they didn't really play their own material (for parties and things) they decided to drop the Minus Bob name as they thought it wasn't really that good (well Damian thought it was) and they went without names for a long period picking up any name for any upcoming gigs (Flaccid Johnson was a fave) whilst starting to play more and more of their own stuff they realised though that to build up a reputation outside of friend's circles they needed their own name and to keep it. Whilst watching Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Adam noticed Dr Gonzo write on a piece of napkin "Backdoor Beauty?" and he handed it over to the waitressy type person. Adam knew what he had to do. Next time he saw the band he mentioned the name and told where it came from and because it is such a class film the rest decided to keep it so now they have a name and quite a bit of their own material (which is ever expanding), and with them building up a reputation through impressive live displays and characteristically good humour you better get on board before you miss this damn fine musical train and you have to jump on the band wagon.

Pop, blues, funk, motown, no specific bands as we all like a wide varirty of music

Wythenshawe, we wont be the same band if we were to be from anywhere else, in a bad way. We are the best we can be because of where we are from.
