Why this name?

The name "Koffee Blakk" was a nickname given to me when I was younger (when I played soccer), and it stuck. From then, it developed to shortened versions, like Blakk, Koffee, or KB.

Do you play live?

Yes, I do. The first one is always a good memory for me. Looking to hopefully get more shows under my belt.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Definately, most cats can't afford studios, so they record sh*** from they computers, get it heard on the net, hell, who knows, someone might actually want to buy it.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

At the moment, I don't think so. I mean, a record label is good, but, the moment I sign that line, this will become more and more like a job, and I got too much love for the music to let that happen. That's not saying if Universal Republic or Interscope decides I'm worth my weight in gold to them that I wouldn't sign away -- a brother got a family to feed!

Band History:

Koffee Blakk been doing his thing since he's been 10 years old. With a father that played the bass guitar and a mother that released two tapes as a Gospel SInger, it's clear where his Musical Inspiration came from.

Starting off in a group with his younger brothers Preston (Teco) and Gregson, he san for a while before they decided that they outgrew doing so.

Koffee didn't stop however, as he expanded from singing to rap, which almost seemed natural because he always wrote poetry as well as some of the songs his brothers sang. Koffee released his first offcial track "Only I" with lukewarm responses, but when he dropped "True Story" which was produced by D2 Prodctions' Daydap (from England), that's where he took off, and the rest as they say is history.

Your influences?

Koffee Blakk: Notorious B.I.G, 2-pac, Jay-Z, and a few unsigned rappers, such as 2EKwip (also known as Rock City Boyz, now with Konvict Music), and someone as far fetched as Will Smith.

Duzza - R. Kelly, Warren G, and Nelly.

Daydap - ..Well, the Lion King movie, nah, I'm just playin, kid's a big fan of Dr. Dre and Timbaland.
