Slow flying was mainly a duo with Pernille as the singer and lyric writer. Rasmus as the instrumentalist, technical wizard and recording engineer, and the two composed together. We have had musicians in and out of the project, mainly David Kampmann (guitar), Dan Hemmer (organ) and Jens-Peter Brodersen. (drums) The band lasted from 1992 to 1998.
Slow Flying is about creating, creating music, magic and creating a space in which anything was possible. What you can hear on this site is the result of years of intense dialogue on all kinds of levels. The music is sensitive, friendly and we hope to touch your heart.

Why this name?
Well, it just felt right.
Do you play live?
We never played live with this duo, but both Rasmus and Pernille has been playing live in other constellations. We always felt that we needed a special place to perform our music, and we therefore chose to concentrate on creating it, rather than communicating it live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We feel that it is very valuable that the technology makes it possible for everybody to be heard, not just those who the record companies see as the chosen few.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, not in this form - but if anybody is interested in using our compostitions, just mail us.
Band History:
Our duo started when a mutual friend and studio owner felt it would be good idea to introduce us to each other, thanks, Finn Jansen! It was the start of a beautiful friendship that lasts beyond the music. We soon found out that we felt as if we had found an almost telepathic music partner, and our values, views on music, life and love was going in the same direction. Pernille stopped singing in 1998, but Rasmus is still creating music, and our friendship is still strong and vibrant.
Your influences?
We have both listened to Pat Metheny, Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox and Daniel Lanois, but still our music is our own. The influence is mainly in the landscape of sounds, chords and even though some compostitions are a bit complex, we're trying to make it sound transparent and as accessible as popular music.
Favorite spot?
Well, actually we both have travelled in Canada and we are fond of the nature, people and the vastness of the landscapes. Both Joni Mitchell and Daniel Lanois are Canadians, so Canada must be the chosen spot when it comes to Slow Flying (We would like, though, to fly fast to that spot.)
Anything else...?
