We were Badd Habitt, but I think the name scared people. Lots of conservative folks in this area of the state and we figured the band name might be offending them. We changed our name to Slowcoach because I (Mark) have been in various bands in my life beginning in the late seventies that used the name "SLOWCOACH." There's a rock band in California that uses that name, too, and that's real cool. In fact, they may have the copyright on the name, but they're not giving us any hell over it.

We play around the Abilene, Texas, area. The bass player and lead singer played in honky tonks all over Texas when they were kids. Their dad was the lead singer of that band and he taught them very well. Excellent musicians! Lead guitar played in various bands around Ft. Worth, Texas, for years.

Still watching. But, what an impact MP3s are making. It's hurting the artists, but, dang, they make enough money anyway for what they do. I wish us "independents" could get a shot!

The lead singer was influenced by Waylon. The lead guitar player was influenced by Willie Nelson, Jim Croce, and stuff like that.
