The Red Effect is blend of hard catchy riffs and dark melodic melodies that give them their signature sound. Their influences include Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Hum, and Failure. Dedication and motivation are two factors that make The Red Effect what they are: Determined to play and make music for a living. And motivated they are. Their intense practice schedule allows them to produce solid songs that are filled with energy and emotion. Each band member contributes equally to the quality of a song and everyone does their part to promote and make every show a success.
Their energetic live act has brought in large crowds to various venues throughout the Chicago land area such as The Elbo Room, Lyons Den, The Note, US Beer Company, North Beach, and 602 North. Their music is currently airing on five different radio stations in the Midwest, and two of their songs were featured on one hour TV program put together by Proartist.com that airs in Columbus, Ohio
Why this name?
Red is a color that symbolizes emotion...love, hate, and anger. These are the emotions that are at the core or every single person. The Red Effect is us trying to tap into those core emotions and stir something... make people feel... Make people realize who they really are... Therefore our songs are powerful and smooth, dynamic and straight forward, basically us as musicians trying to wake people up.
Do you play live?
We play as many as five shows a month. We have a very energentic live show. We have played all over the city of Chicago and the suburbs at places like The Elbo Room, Lyon's Den, Beat Kitchen, US Beer Company, 602 North, North Beach, and Synergy.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows more people to access more music that they probably would never be exposed to if they didn't have a world wide resource like the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. Being able to reach as many people as possible with your music and being able to play and make music for a living is the what it is all about for us.
Your influences?
Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Smashing Pumpkins, Jimmi Hendrix, Tool, Hum, and Failure
