Why this name?

Shorty Roc = "Shorty rocks the mic"

Back in the early 90's I use to battle rap in the Bronx, New York. I didn't have a nickname so when the older guys on the block wanted me to freestyle for them or battle someone they would just say "Shorty come here..." this was because of my height... I added the "ROCK" when I started recording my raps on the microphone... hence the name Shorty Roc*
