play lo-fi play hi-fi  His Masters Voice
Formed In January 2003. Year Zero have been locked away for the entire year. Writing, recording, re-recording and Developing their own unique sound. They call it "Stoned Groove Space Rock" whatever that means. You be the judge!
Why this name?
Originally we were going to be called 'Dr Goldfrapp and the Bikini Machine', but we felt that people would think Gaz was Dr Goldfrapp. So showing a complete lack of imagination, we googled 50's Sci-Fi films, and came up with Panic In Year Zero, so we decided to cut that to Year Zero.
Do you play live?
Residents of The Conservatory
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The record companies have had us in an armlock, charging us whatever they like for music, by telling was what we should want and not giving us what we really want. Now its just as easy to pay the band directly, and cut out the middle-man.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah, we enjoy playing music, but we still want the money.
Band History:
Until this band of harden rockers united to bring you the tour de force that is Year Zero Gaz and Mungo had been performing live with Dr Stroganoff on the already saturated Porthcawl covers band scene. Steve and Arnie have been writing and recording together for nearly five years. 2001 saw them record two tracks under the Name of Quatermass productions. During which time they recorded a track for Mungo and Gaz. His Masters Voice. This now nearly 3 years later is the title track of their debut e.p.
Your influences?

Mat: I like a wide variety of music, from Slayer to The Orb. Anything by the Beastie Boys, and anything reggae. What a lot of coughin.
