The idea of STILLIFE's foundation dates back to 1998 and two years later it is realized in the self-produced album 'Raining December'. Eternal themes of love, loneliness and human tragedy embodied in the music of 'Raining December' debut album present the real darkwave. In 2001 "Irond Ltd." releases this album on CD, including couple of exclusive bonus tracks. The same year STILLIFE perform for the first time at the mini-festival Edge of the Night IV together with cult band ENDRAUM (Germany). The story goes on and in October 2002 STILLIFE together with "Irond Ltd." release mini-CD 'Only Silence'. Besides new tracks one can find here the remix of "Nur das Schweigen" and cover version of PENITENT's "Necropolis". At the next Edge of the Night V, the band performs together with legendary DIARY OF DREAMS (Germany)! At the same time their works receive quite positive reviews in foreign press, such magazines as Orkus, Totentanz, Side-Line and others. The German "Resistance! Radio" called 'Raining December' - the album of the month! But STILLIFE are not forgotten in their motherland. According to the results of the pole at Russian Gothic Project website they won two nominations: "The best Russian gothic band of all times" and "The best Russian gothic band of 2002"! Next year the title song from their 'Only Silence' mini-CD appears in the hit-parade of "Serebro" program at "Moscow Echo" radio and holds the third place for a number of weeks. By the end of 2003 the band is ready to present the new album to the audience. The band keeps on developing their base darkwave direction. The lyrics are still full of life and death, love and tragedy. The same symbolism and shadow play... Almost all songs of 'Remembrance' are performed in English. The exception here is the only German-language track 'Atem der Vergangenheit'. On this album you will find plenty of amazing moments such as the remix of 'Only Silence' made by ENDRAUM, sample from Tarkovsky's "Solaris", life viola as always and at last outstanding artwork by Konstantin Viktorov (Penitent, Ywolf, Ens Cogitans, Butterfly Temple). The booklet has the form of mini-poster and the disc itself is styled as the old vinyl record. The album will surely be a success!
