The new CD, "Next Time Nail it Shut" has been released! But it at SINister Records
LIVE NOT ON EVIL
Live Not on Evil is a dark, guitar-heavy organization serving up haunting, melodic melodies like a train wreck wearing a bikini or a ghost chasing you down the street with a baseball bat.
Why this name?
It was in a weird puzzle book... it's the same backwards as forwards.
Do you play live?
Yes, Philly, New York, Baltimore, New Jersey. We wanted to play a show on the outskirts of town before we played our first show in the city. It turned out to be a pretty bad idea... we got about three songs in before a fight broke out - people screaming, broken glass everywhere - and we just barely got out of there with our gear. We laughed all the way home.
All of our shows after that have gone much better.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has made it much less exclusive to the big bands and the big labels, which is a good thing. You can get the same stuff jammed in your ear all day long - it’s not going to make you like it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I really doubt it, but they don’t want us anyway so everybody's happy.
Band History:
Live Not on Evil played its first show at The Upstage in Philadelphia, PA on December 10th, 1999. Since then they've shared bills with such artists as Foetus, Trance to the Sun & Penis Flytrap - and they most recently appeared at the all-goth-star-studded 2004 Drop Dead Festival in New York (with Ausgang, Bella Morte, the Empire Hideous & other kick-ass acts).
With the release of their 2001 debut CD, "Lucky Stiff," the band landed both great press as well as radio and online airplay around the world. "Lucky Stiff" is distributed through both SINister Records (Seattle) and Furia Musica (Europe) and is enhanced with a video for "The Scary Polka," produced by W.J.M. Productions.
Anything else...?
