Yorkshire is Urban Unity's zone primarily. First gig we played was at Bar 120 Beats & Pieces night. T Dread kicked it off with some unrehearsed accapella - we got the crowd chanting 'Legalise - Legalise' - Big!
Since the early days with the group FlipT & Scarlett now perform exclusively in Australia.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
IN A BIG WAY - Mp3 allows a music file to be compressed to a size that is small enough to now distribute via the net.
This has opened up doors that cut out the businesses exploiting the distribution side of the value chain.
It's good for artists, good for producers, good for vocalists - great for innovation and creativity - good for allowing people to express their thoughts and for the spread of information..... BAD FOR MONEY GRABBERS...
However the distribution of free and pirated music via file-sharing has now meant that musicians rely solely on live performances for the majority of their income resulting in gigs becoming a thing of the best. As we see the boom of global digital information we are about to realize that distribution deals are not what they were 10 years ago.
In the last 3 years the mechanisms for securing the identity of tracks online have stabalised the industry allowing a crack down on piracy and established online "page artists' to finally start cashing in on the new generation of music listeners growing up online.
This has opened up doors that cut out the businesses exploiting the distribution side of the value chain.

Zion Hill (9 Mile, Trelawny, Jamaica - Bob Marley's Birth Place) Rested up there 'like tourist' but the people kept me warm with love and herbs - and thats where it all started for me. RISPECT 9 MILE
