What happens when you join the most talented musicians in their genre, who, in addition, are recognized by their previous projects? De’fekt arises! It all began with the union of ex-members from some of the most recognized bands in Puerto Rico’s rock scene such as Difusión, Zero and Discordia, creating a mix of musicians who stand out sharing their passion for music; hereafter forming a group of talented artists whose songs are packed with force and melody.



The quartet was formed after the disintegration of their last projects and with this, these friends decided to meet and jam for a while. After several jam sessions, Ricardo and John started plans for a new band. Knowing their ideas were accord they then concentrated in finding a good bass player, consequently Edgardo comes on board and finally convinced Rigo to be the lead singer. Dedicated to their music these guys combined their forces and in the summer of 2003 De’fekt was born.



De’fekt’s name arises describing natural imperfections and untamed morals, the abnormalities and the deficiency or lack of ‘something’, the name describes in a word the powerful but simultaneously melodic sides of it's music and summarizes the never-ending evolution each member is going through. To talk about De’fekt is to refer to a type of music that goes over the whims or desires of each one of the members. For them it’s more important that the songs, as a whole, come out solid and powerful. The project goes back to the days of recording in the singer’s homemade studio, to the endless weekly rehearsals and special appearances in some of the hottest pubs of the Puertorrican rock scene.
