All works created through strict use of experimentation and improvisational techniques... the most important element is the depiction of atmosphere where all instruments/sounds fuse together. Noise, chaos, infinity, beauty, darkness, light, pain, harmony, melancholy, rhythm, power, melody, repetition, dissonance and duality are all concepts expressed herein...
Why this name?
The letters VLE are taken from the phrase the eViL onE. Unfortunately, I have come across many frightened people that like to judge me. They see me as this evil dark individual... and for a while I started to believe this myself. I began signing the end of my letters with ~the eViL onE~ as a sort of sarcastic mocking. So when I first released this music I decided that I would just refer to myself as ~the VLE~. The music is just a reflection of this misinterpretation… the illusion as seen through the eyes of the flesh. In the end, VLE is just a Virtual Listening Experience, nothing more.
Band History:
VLE has officially signed to DEEPSEND RECORDS for the release of their next currently untitled record. Tracking for the effort will take place at the artist's home base throughout the New Year and commence in March for a release shortly thereafter. The label will also re-release their critically acclaimed 'The Book of Illusions: Chapters I, II, III' together as a double disc sometime in late 2005. New release will once again feature the stunning artwork of former Disney Feature Animation Artist, Chistophe Vacher.
VLE... a project started by one being in July 2001. Inspired by ocean sunsets, darkness and silence... VLE has created improvised expressive minimalist soundscapes that serve to evoke different emotions. VLE is a journey through timeless motifs and cosmic spheres of existence. The sound of VLE is raw and emotional as all pieces were constructed without use of programming or traditional composition style. The music of VLE is very eclectic as each piece represents the different moods we all experience in this life. This is music from the soul... music erected from the subconscious. And if you are open to other states of consciousness, you too shall learn. VLE invites you to experience the deepest realms of darkness and beauty.

Your influences?
I listen to all kinds of music… Metal (black, death, doom, progressive, avant-garde, etc), classic rock, easy listening, classical, ethnic , old country, gospel, some jazz, and other stuff I can't classify. If it moves me, I will listen to it.
Equipment used:
The instruments I used are a shitty 4-track, which I suppose most wouldn't consider an instrument, but mine definitely added a nice bit of noise to some songs, so for this reason alone it warrants inclusion… Westone and PRS electric guitars, Ovation and Yamaha acoustics, Fender bass, E-mu and Korg synths, Tama drums(only on Kano) and my voice. For capturing and mixing the sounds I used a Tascam 4-track, Sony double cassette boom box, Macintosh Computer, Sony DAT, Sony Mini Disc, Sony Headphones, Mackie mixer, Alesis effects unit and some other stuff I forget. Most of this equipment I borrowed or had access to for a short period of time.
