Manila, Philippines. This Producer was put on the map by his flavorful approach to any genre of electronica he puts his hands on. Known for his versatility and styles ranging from banging techno, to funky house, to aggressive drum and bass, to lounge and chillout, silverfilter is a man without limits. All these are brought out in the open through his live electronic sets, which are definitely an experience. Running his home indie label, Indie Go Records, he produces and releases his own music done exclusively in his home studio, Switch. His music, made up of beat-driven patterns and catchy hooks, is best experienced on the dance floor where the booming basses, pulsating beats and the infectious vibe can easily be felt all over.

Silverfilter can claim an essential part in the rise of live dance music in the Philippines due to his hard-hitting dance sets, which leaves partygoers no choice but to move and groove. Fusing the live experience to the DJ vibe, every silverfilter set is sure to be the best of both worlds and has proven to entertain crowds from all over. Silverfilter’s live performances and his original tracks have already proven to be ear candies to floor-fillers, making him one of the most sought after electronic music producers in the industry.
Why this name?
Reasons:

1. Alliteration... the repeating of "er" at the end somehow makes it catchy.

2. I used silver because it sounds cool! hehehe I feel silver somehow connotes power, sophistication, and masculinity. that's just for me. I don't know what silver means to you.

3. I used filter because it is an integral part in sound design and doing electronic music, using filter in the name somehow sounds appropriate.
Do you play live?
Yes I play live.

I play at events, and different productions held in different clubs and bars around the metro.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it gave new meaning to "bringing the music to the people." With the MP3 format, people can now have access to quality music and at the same time, provide a means for musicians to promote themselves with their music using the format.

Yes, it has brought its own share of demise to the industry by making available "pirated" material to be freely distributed but the technology is already there and to fight it would be going against further development.

We should embrace it and use it to open the minds of people to different types of music available to them.

It has definitely changed the music industry. Right now, the positive and negative effects are almost just equal. I hope soon, we can have more positive effects for the music industry.

Stop Piracy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would if we can both agree on the terms. I for one have favorite labels that I'd like to be a part of.
Band History:
Having been exposed to music since childhood and having been around playing in different bands since he was 12, silverfilter got into electronic music armed with a background that covers different musical styles.

He formed his first electronica outfit back in 1998 with a guitar player and him on keyboards, synths and drum programming. After that short-lived electronica group, he got into working with music software making him realize the endless possibilities in making music on his own.

For 4 years, he remained in the confines of his room writing music and improving his skills as an electronic musician.

In 2002, he slowly tried to get out from the four walls of his studio and looked for ways to let people listen to his music through live electronic performances.

Since then, silverfilter has continued to push the envelope in bringing live electronica to the people making every performance a true experience for each person in the crowd.
