Syphilis Sauna is the Solo Project of Patrick Urn and is intended to be the more experimental side of electronic music. Using a variety of homemade/store bought devices and very little "structure" Syphilis Sauna builds and eclectic array of sounds and and textures . S.S. other main focus is random collaboration and music being a cure for the "human disease".
Why this name?
Thats were we all live in the mad mad sauna. Humanity spreads in the same way a disease would
Do you play live?
Yes alot , Ive played mostly in Denver at such places as Bars,Clubs,warehouses and arthouses as well as some much more intresting places such as an missle silo, Barnes and Noble , DMOCA, or Freedom Auto (junk yard) .
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think like any other type of information it will only bring more people out of ignorance and into the light
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
sure yeah but it would have to be on my terms (im not playing pop music here)
Band History:
I played my first show in New Mexico with J. Frede and then moved to Denver and formed along with Ezra Nye Zahgurim Theorem. Later on me and Lucio Duran started Asphyxia which when joined by Nye became In Ether (see www.backwardsrecords.com for a more complete description )It was from that point that I started doing Syphilis Sauna .
