Band History:
About strengthbeyondu
Crushing, Grooving, Amazing and Moving Are all words that have been used to describe the Hard rock/ Metal band SBU. Formed in 1998 by lead guitarist Amedeus X and lead vocalist Sonny Carafelli. They shared one vision, to provide the masses with the afore mentioned with intelligent, meaningful lyrics and bone crunching riffs. With the influence of metal greats such as Pantera, Sabbath, Megadeth and Metallica, SBU have a sound that is very much their own. Based out of Detroit, the duo solidified the line up in late 2001 with the addition of (Drummer) Tom Hart, brought in to pound out the bands 2002 release, the EP Soul Divide. Soon after the bands debut release, with the increasing demand for local shows and busy schedule, the band sought out the need for a permanent bassist, bringing in Kenny Gill in early 2003. The bands first full length effort in 2004 (Grounded) was a solid display of metal, songwriting and chemistry of the now permanent lineup. Presently SBU are finishing up their most recent...Powerful! disc to date, Stigma. To be unleashed summer 06
