Why this name?
Ditched the outdated name of 'M.C Unique' which I had used since I was a young teenager, and came up with some other shit...'Configa'..To configure music...To create...To assemble...To put together...You get the picture...
Do you play live?
As an M.C I did, yes.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows people that would never usually be heard TO BE heard...We are all indebted to the Nets power...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the price and small print is right...
Band History:
'Baptizm of Fire' was a strictly underground release, but did very well considering limited publicity and promotion; it basicly served its purpose as an introduction to me, primarily as a rapper, and secondly as a producer (I also produced most of the albums beats). On top of all that I was constantly making conncections on a worldwide level on the back of that release.

One particular track of note, was a collaboration with an LA based M.C/producer/record label C.E.O by the name of B. Down on a track called 'Worldwide' which won an award on garagband.com as its song of the month. Clubs and radio stations (both in the UK and US) were rinsin' that one for months.

After its success, and hoping to capitalise on our musical chemistry, B.Down signed me to his LA based independent label 'Rap Junkie Records' and I was subsequently featured on two compilations 'Independent Game Volume 1' and 'Independent Game Volume 2' and also released my second album 'The King Of Linguistics' through that same label (Even though my priority was the States- I still kept my foot in the UK scene though with spots on compilations such as the 'Rawroots' one). With both US and UK wide major distribition in place, good promotion, and favourable press reviews, sales more than exceeded expectations. The sales from that album alone kept me financially sound for some time.

Getting into 2003 I became disillusioned with hip hop music. I had been doing it as a serious artist continuously since the age of 17 (been into the music since the age of 8- since the days of the Juice Crew and Native Tongues), and after everything had been said and done with my second album, I decided to reavaluate my situation. On 'The King Of Linguistics' I produced primarily most of the album, and really started getting mainly into that side of the industry from that point on, as M.C'ing had lost its appeal to me.

These days I dedicate myself to producing and I am now part of a collective called 'Slept On Fam' and will be executive/head producer on the forthcoming 'Audio Crack' album, set to drop in Summer 2005.
