The Army of Prawnz are a spunky lil band stuck smack dab in the middle of America. Formed in Fort Scott, Kansas in late 2002, the current linup began playing together the following summer. Since then, AoP have evolved from a punk band to sampling straight-ahead rock (Release) and even some death metal (Storm Chasers). Always trying to stay knee deep in the local music scene, AoP jump at the chance to play any concert thrown their way, sometimes angering friends and parents with their dedication to all that is Prawn. Part of that dedication extends to the fans, whom AoP love almost as much as playing music. Nothing beats a live show, pleasing a crowd doing something you love. If you've never been to an AoP show, we encourage you to attend, and we'll do our best to make sure it's the best concert you've ever been to!
Why this name?
Duncan: The band name was chosen by former bassist Bryan Weilert. America was about to go to war and at the moment Bryan and Duncan were obsessed with Vice City, and one of the towns in Vice City was called "Prawn Island." He put the two together and you get "Army of Prawnz." (The Z just sounded good at the time)
Do you play live?
Quinton: Oh yea; mostly in Fort Scott; Playing live is one of the best things ever; just getting in to the music and communicating raw emotions to the audience.

Wilson: i love to play live, anywhere, hmmm...i love to see other people sing alone...it makes me feel like i have contributed to something.

Trent: i love to play live.... my favorite place is madison square garden; favorite moment was seeing people go ape sh*** over our music....

Duncan: Anywhere with people.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Quinton: I miss downloading music, it tuned me into a lot of bands that influenced what I'm doing now.

Trent:hmm...it helps people discover and get into music they wouldnt usually be exposed to, and it makes winny babies (like metallitca)show how dumb they are

Wilson: yes, i think it is a great thing, big time bands whine about it , saying they loose $, where they are rich in the first place, the real bands that play for the love of music love to get their music out however they can, i believe in music sharing

Duncan: The internet opens the music industry up to a lot of small and up coming bands.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Quinton: Heck, that'd be amazing!

Duncan: Who wouldn't?
