Formed by Solace songwriter and guitarist Chris Williams in 2003, The Parallel Rise mix new rock cool with classic emotive songwriting. Onion Jack principal Daniel Vincent provides a wall of dense electronic atmospherics, whilst Ashford's Matt Fraser lays down a rock solid groove.
Do you play live?
The Parallel Rise made their official debut at SouthLondonLive.org's first charity function at The Cartoon Live Music Venue in Croydon, Surrey on 22nd February 2004. This followed a short warm-up gig at Beano's Record Store in Croydon, Surrey on 24th January 2004.
Your influences?
Chris Williams: "The sound and style we are developing is very exciting. All too often bands tend to jump on the commercial bandwagon and develope their sound accordingly. With influences ranging from Pink Floyd to Porcupine Tree and from The Verve to Coldplay we are without doubt setting ourselves outside this spectrum."
