Someone you don't know is making music you never heard. The computer age has erupted with music to my great delight. I love the idea of creating music to be listened to around the world via the internet. My music is in a variety of styles including, Jazz, Electronica, Techno, Dance, Rock. I hope you find something that appeals to your taste and you enjoy it as much as I do creating it.
Why this name?
The music is created with software, computers, and huge quantities of time and imagination. It is synthetic in nature and "Synthetic Movements" is a good discription.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Broad horizons with more diveristy and power to the independent artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That would be difficult to say without details.
Band History:
Late Starter, realizing a dream. I started out with a pawn shop MOOG synth and a serious addiction to early eighties electronica. I tried and tried, but never mastered. Then the world was blessed with MIDI and I got a computer, (Commodore 64), and Passport MIDI software. Major investment in my quest. I went in debt for a Korg 800 and traded my car for a drum machine (Stupid). I lived and breathed MIDI 24 hours a day. Step Programming and syncronizing and using my room mate's HiFi VCR to record my original songs. I have a friend who still has a cassette of my early creations. I winced, incase you didn't see. Music is my escape, money doen't matter, politics doesn't matter, everything takes a back seat just for a little while. This is my little piece of the world and it's as big and loud as I want or as small and quiet as I like. You can stay if you like, come back when you want. Take what you like and say what you will, I have finally found my voice, my art, myself. I've tried poetry, painting, and writing, but music is the underlying passion. Music can inspire the poet, music can inspire the painter, and music can inspire the writer. Music can reflect what can't be said, seen, or read. I hope you like what your hear and remember where to find more.
Your influences?
Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, 808 State, Enigma, Enya, Erasure, Yaz, many, many others.
Favorite spot?
On an empty beach with a full moon, my bare feet in the cool sand and a soft breeze brushing gently.
Equipment used:
Lots of different music software, depending on the mood. I do have an Yamaha DJX, RX7, Roland MT32, Ensonque Mirage, and a Yamaha MusicStation.
Anything else...?
It's fun to hear what people think or their impressions of my music. I especially like to hear what comes to their imagination as they listen to it.
