Although Amy Fatzinger began her singing career as a small child (check out the hidden track on the CD---circa 1977!!), her gift of song writing didn't follow until many years later. Amy considers herself an "accidental" songwriter because all of her songs have grown from intimate quiet time alone with God in His Word. These simple songs were never meant to go beyond the four walls of her bedroom; she held them each close to her heart, as they were indeed tools that the Lord used to minister His truth to her through her own mouth in times of pain and confusion...as well as times of worship and thanksgiving. Each song she has written has been inspired by the Holy Spirit and given to use as a tool to bring help and healing to Christians and non-Christians alike. Since God's Word does not return to Him void but accomplishes what He has sent it out to do, there is automatic ministry that occurs when Scripture is set to music. She believes that worship and intercession go hand- in-hand and desires to see God's precious people released from the chains of shame and condemnation through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amy's Confession hails from Athens/Atlanta, GA and, though they have known each other for many years, have only been playing together as a band for about 2 years. They are a diverse bunch from all walks of life, each bringing something very special and very unique to the CD. Each song carries the mark of the individual musician along with their experiences with the Lord. It is their collective prayer that their debut project, Paper Crowns, awakens the understanding that the Lord passionately pursues His children---no matter what the circumstances in life....His love is unshakeable and His restorative power beyond measure. He is FOR us, not against us, and we are never beyond His reach.

Why this name?
Chris Combs, our guitar player, just blurted it out (as one of many examples of names we counld use) while we were in the studio...it sounded accurate, so we went with it!
Do you play live?
Yes, mostly the Atlanta/ Athens area. Kathryn and Amy do a lot of acoustic shows in the "coffee house" arena, but our most recent passion in prison ministry---THAT is where Jesus hangs out!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives unknowns an outlet to be creative and get their music out there. What did God do before the internet?!? ;o)
We have filled orders to Africa and Poland for people who just happened to find us on the internet---so cool!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure...if the timing was right and I felt a clear leading in that direction
Your influences?
Over all, I would have to say Emmy Lou Harris and Julie Miller in style. In the past few years, I have been enamored with Over the Rhine and Nora Jones (who hasn't?) Bill Mallonee and Sandra McCracken are two others that I simply love.
Favorite spot?
Hoschton, Georgia: playing guitar on my huge front porch watching my children play outside.
Equipment used:
Taylor guitar, peavy amp, Shure in-ear monitors
