KUNG FURY is a Three piece rock-n-roll band that’s heavy with Big hooks,
tight pants, fast kicks and short songs, in the vein of:
Iggy and the Stooges, N.Y. Dolls, QOTSA, Teengenerate, Janes Addiction...
Shaun Brennan (guitar/vocals), founder of the shining Washington, D.C. based
glam rock band Vanity Champ and R.E.A. (drums), formerly of notorious Albany
punkers The Disenchanted, met in New York City in 2003 and began writing songs.
Soon joined by Neal Ostberg on bass (of the infamous NYC Hardcore band Antidote) they started recording and playing gigs along the East Coast while staying steady
on the NYC club circuit.
In 2008 Jonny Z took over on bass duties and the boys hit the studio
in May of 2009 to record the newly released and smashing EP “KICKS!”,
featuring three fresh songs: “Take A Punch”, “I’m A Man” and “Wired”.
KUNG FURY is about release. It’s about freeing yourself from the grip
of small people with three minute songs about life, pleasure and decadence.
It’s about simple, sexy rock-n-roll with a taste for class and trash.
So, turn up the volume, light some bottle rockets and crawl around to the beat...

you can catch us live in NY often @ Trash Bar, The Delancey, Pianos...or in DC @ the red and the black, the black cat, velvet lounge, iota...and philly. and baltimore...YES. of course we love to play live! when a song becomes that vehicle

we're devil spawned, rock-n-roll nightmares.
we met @ Funkadelic studios in Manhattan.
recorded an EP and got really good response from everywhere we sent it...
so, all the shows started coming in and we stay pretty busy...since day one we've been interested in expressing a feeling through music. could be as simple as a crush or a cool breeze on the hot street...or maybe the feeling is as abstract as an absolute resignation to cravings. often decadent. often like a dream sequence delivered from a cozy,brave new world. but when it comes down to it,
we all just love to bang out reckless rocknroll!
