AGENT-C
Why this name?
It is a derivative of earlier project: The Agency. This was a band doing originals in the early 90's. This new project has seen some of The Agency's original members re-united to begin writing new material for a forth comming album; lacking any real name, we chose to temporarily "brand" this project AGENT-C.
Do you play live?
Right now, one of our primary members is touring to promote Bob Guiney's new album 3 SIDES. Upon his return, we will work to complete the album but concepts for live shows are already being discussed. The hope is (believe it or not) that we might be able to excute a live performance with only three members.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Huge shift in the way business will have to be done. RIAA will have to come up with a new business model
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Certainly. Distribution of hard goods is still a big part of the biz- perhaps not for long though. I doubt there is a huge demand for this particular type of music, which limits publishing venues. But I can't totally rule out the possibility that comercial success, on some level, can't be obtained with a quality product.
Your influences?
Beatles, Depeche Mode, Jeff Buckley, Kent, Radiohead, Mozart, Narvana, Duran Duran, Cold Play, Soggy Bottom Boys, The Smiths, Papa Vegas, Queen, Jeff Lynn and of course Darling Cruel.
Favorite spot?
I don't know yet. I haven't been to all of them. New York City rates at the top right now. Hollywood, particularly the Hollywood walk of fame- being so packed with every imaginable person capable of dreaming of fame. What a truely awesome freak show. Disney World is pretty cool too. Chuck E. Cheese.
Anything else...?
The recording here are rough mix tunes thrown against the wall for feedback. We thank anyone willing to take the time to listen.
