Why this name?
I had to think of something quickly, and this was surfaced in the swamp that is my brain...
Do you play live?
I don't, and couldn't, play live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Not atall. The music industry goes on relentlessly and is about money rather than music. It's a miracle that listerners get to hear anything decent, given that the industry is driven by cash above all else. Sites like soundclick.com are more about love than money.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. No.
Band History:
None atall. I've loved music forever, and only recently discovered that you can make it at home on a computer.
Your influences?
I love all sorts of things, from Bach to Bacharach and Blur. It goes without saying that the Beatles are embedded deap within my subconscious, but I never think about them other than when I have a cd on. I love male voices, so I'm influenced by Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys, and love the way they were both avant garde and relentlessly popular at the same time (yeah, really...), but I also like the cooler , more detached and intellectual approach of Paddy McAloon and Prefab Sprout. I like melodies and beautiful chords, though I also like something a little more violent and nasty on occassion, as long as its good...
Favorite spot?
My bed, in Stoke Newington, London.
Equipment used:
Cubase SX, with various plugins. 'Ten Acres to the Farm' uses 4Front piano, Plugsound double bass, a Sampletank electric bass, and a chopped-up Groove agent drum track. I've no idea what mic I use, and there are no special compressors, reverbs or EQs on the track.
