Hi,
I'm Dan Kokol. Welcome to my sound click page. This is where I'll be posting some songs from my up coming cd, & various rock & jazz covers I record along the way. As a musician I do session work & perform live with different bands, as well as teaching music.

I hope you enjoy my music & thank you for listening.
Why this name?
It's my name... I am what I is.
Do you play live?
Yes, I do shows all over Ontario Canada. Playing live is always a blast. The most special moment that has happened to me so far was when someone came up to me after a clinic & told me that one of the songs I played really moved her emotionally. It was nice to hear that, I had a pretty big smile for the rest of the day.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I feel that the internet & mp3's are great for musicians like my self who are trying to bring their music to the world. If it wasn't for the internet & mp3's you wouldn't be reading this right now, & I wouldn't have this space to promote my music. However, the major labels & artists signed to deals with them are getting hit hard by mp3's & file sharing. As I tell my students, if you like an artist, buy their cd don't just download the songs. Cd sales are how these artists survive, if nobody buys the cd's then the artists we all love won't be able to keep making the music you love. So, it's a yin & yang situation, great for some, terrible for others.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Can't say yes, can't say no.... if the time comes & a deal is offered, I'd have to evaluate the pros & cons & make decision then.
Your influences?
My main influences are.... Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani,Vinnie Moore, Dream Theater, Randy Rhodes, Greg Howe, Pat Metheny, Mike Stern, Miles Davis, John Coltrane....... is that enough ???
Favorite spot?
Does it have to be on Earth ????
