ian rocks project
A group of pro Southern Ca. musicians, just wanting the people to hear some killer rock for free. Without our usual "having to support big corporate America in the process." How many times have you had to buy a c.d. for the one damn song that you liked? Whatcha Gonna Do is is a demo from our upcoming album titled "Explicit Cover" The finished version will be added soon. E-mail ian at ianrocksit@aol.com for more info on the band
Why this name?
People would come up after a show, and say.....
Damn ian! you guys rock. So I thought hmm......
ian rocks....cool, that works.
Do you play live?
Right now were re-recording in the studio. The couple songs I put on here are the original ones.
The music is all re-worked and ready to go. I just need to get off my ass and finish the vocal tracks. Yea, there's nothing like playing live. The rush is hard to describe with words, and it makes all the hard work worth it. Oh, special moments you ask, haha, I sing and play guitar in a band....Not to sound cocky, but.. I've had more fun than most guys could ever dream about...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's all changed so much, it's hard to take it all in. There's definetly more avenues now than ever before, but more competition too. It' about time the little guy can do things for himself, without signing his life away on a sometimes shady record deal. Oh yes, they're out there!!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'd really have to be talked into it. It would have to be the right deal, and the right company before I'd consider it. Doing it all ourselves, with no deadlines, or pressure, or some jackass breathing down our neck for another album, doesn't sit too well with me. Especially with my, "What the hell are you looking at?, attitude!
We come from the era of how many hotel rooms can we destroy. We'd probably get fired in a week.
Band History:
Well.... Ian decided to keep who they are, and who
they've all played with a bit of a secret for now.
Everybody's got to have a little mystery... right?
To hell with the name dropping, who cares who you used to play with. What the hell are you doing now.
