Hi, we are not really a band, more a collective of musicians living in Liverpool, England. How it works is, we all collaborate on each others work, with myself being the producer as well as a participating musician.
We play mostly acoustic music, with a folk feel. All muscians write from a first person perspective, and our aim is to only produce tunes which are "real" in their subject matter. i.e. from personal experience, as our opinion is this is the only way to write, following such great people as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Red House Painters, etc, i could go on.
So I hope you enjoy our offerings.
Why this name?
I can't remember to be honest, how we came to the name. It was Nick's idea, one of the members.
Do you play live?
Yes we play live all over Liverpool, which we enjoy tremendously. Live is where its at.
We hold a folk festival at Coniston in the Lake District twice a year. Our beloved Katie hails from here, and as it is such a beautiful setting (we play on the shore of Lake Coniston in the summer, wow its so amazing)In the winter we hold the festival in the local institure hall.
These events are the highlight of our musical year.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well obviously it gives the opportunity for people such as our selves to be heard and also to hear other great acts from all over the globe, something unpresidented before the internet. Plus it takes the monopoly away from the major record labels. Soon they will have accept that the internet IS going to change the way we listen to and purchase music in the future, and they will have to put up or shut up. They will not be able to hold back the tide.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes
Your influences?
We all have different influences in the project. Here are some of them
Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Red House Painters, Smog, Eva Cassidy, Kings of Convenience, Jewel, Talk Talk to name but a few.
Favorite spot?
The Lake District, Cumbria, England
