Who has The Last Laugh?

So one day, these two crazy kids at Virginia Tech started playing around with a guitar and a $500 MP3 recorder. They showed some of their stuff to a few of their musically inspired friends, and before long, the joke of starting a band starting becoming a reality.
They don't know where they're going with this...it may just continue in good fun, or maybe something more. But where the road may lead, your welcome to follow along.
Why this name?
We just thought that "the last laugh" was a good, and ironic, name for us and what we were doing. And apparently, we're not alone, lol.
Do you play live?
Nothing live yet, just recordings. But maybe an open mic night is in our future...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it definately changes how we distribute music, and I think the industry needs to jump on that bandwagon instead of digging their heels into the ground. Granted, I don't agree with stealing, but we need to get at the root of the problem, which is that fans don't think buying CD's is worth it anymore.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
From what I hear, probably not. But we're not expecting much from this in any case; we do this in our free time. But if people out there like us, well, we'd probably go indie (with the label we're interns for, D1 Music Network: www.d1musicnet.com)
Band History:
We've been friends for years, and within the last year and a half have been playing around with ideas. Dana (Nad) is the guitarist, and also comes in with the bass now and then, and co-writes the lyrics and vocals. I (Laura, aka Valdyr) mainly do vocals and lyrics, with a little guitar or percussion influence, along with a beginning interest in mixing.
Your influences?
Wow, we like so many things, but sound like none of them. I think we could list some of our favorite bands as Orgy, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Fluffy Starr, and Blues Traveler...but we've been described as comparable to Bjork and Massive Attack. But I don't doubt that one day we might working more of our favorite sounds into what we do.
Favorite spot?
Well, we're at Virginia Tech...
