We're a collective of musicians scattered across the U.S. who participate in an online messageboard forum. We also contribute original songs to our own compilation CD's and occasionally meet in person at "summits" where we each bring a song, rehearse the whole bunch of songs one day and then record them in a studio the next.
Why this name?
The online forum mentioned above is named Demo Exchange.
Do you play live?
Some of us play live, usually near where we live (mostly in the northeast and Chicago regions). For me in particular, a special live moment is when I get through a song without making a major mistake, like forgetting words or where I am in the song. :)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It lets many other musicians be heard worldwide who otherwise wouldn't be. Hopefully this will result in the signing of more "worthy" talent than would be accomplished if the internet didn't exist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the terms were beneficial...maybe. :)
