For the most part, I am a one man band/solo performer. On occasion I do have guest artists sit in with me. I have also had friends play on my studio work. I have many musical friends and do play with them as often as possible.
Why this name?
Being a solo performer it was easy to choose my given name.
Do you play live?
I play anywhere that I can find an appreciative audience that actually comes to listen.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has given me the opportunity to spread out more than if I had only advertised locally. It has also offered many more people the opportunity to hear my music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would like to think that possible but I have seen how the artists get shortchanged by the major labels. It would have to be well negotiated and work in my favor.
Band History:
Dave Sterenchock, a singer/songwriter from the Northeastern Pennsylvania area, has been on a long and varied musical journey. His quest to find himself musically has led him to cross several boundries and explore many genres. What started with the Beatles as his first influence, has grown to include everyone he has ever listened to.
From rock'n'roll to classical, Dave has gathered anything that has struck his fancy and has integrated it into his own music. This stylistic variety has led him to describe his music as:
Classical/Celtic/New Age/Folk/Jazz/Rock
Leaning heavily on his folk music influences and a love for acoustic instruments has led Dave to find his voice as a singer/songwriter. His multi-instrumental ability has also given him the opportunity to compose instrumental pieces that encompass the other genres used to describe his music.
In performance Dave's emotionally charged songs are often interspersed with his instrumental pieces to create an ebb and flow of texture and emotions.

Favorite spot?
I have really enjoyed time spent in Nantucket but that was in a past life.
Equipment used:
My main guitar is a Martin D16T. I also have an older Fender acoustic that I keep in a different tuning. I also play a nameless mountain dulcimer and a Harmony mandolin.
My PA equipment starts with a Carvin mixer, Nady power amp, Yamaha speakers and an Alesis digital delay.

Anything else...?
Most of my songs are messages to certain people but I believe they can strike a universal chord with others who have experienced the same feelings.
