When we had a handful of our first beats and made a CD with that name on it, our friend from college, Matt, told us that it was a wack name. We went back to being nameless for a while until one day I (Nicos) just said soundcontrol, and Justin liked it (and so did Matt), so we been soundcontrol ever since."

"My name is Nicos Eaton and my partner's name is Justin Marlowe. Justin and I lived in the same neighborhood and we to the same high school as well as the same college. But one day in late 2002, in college (Virginia Tech), Justin and I talked about music for hours in my dorm room and we hit it off. We started out with Fruity Loops and once we mastered that, we bought some real heavy duty equipment and we are here now, just trying to get people to listen to us."
