Nifty McSniffty is a metal crust-core, grinding jazz band that has on rare occasions, miniscule hints of talent. They are a side project of the super group, Metal Sniff. Nifty McSniffty is similar in style to Metal Sniff, Sesame Street, Happy Flowers, Boredoms, Naked City, Napalm Death, A.C., Hard Corps and After Seven. Peter Norvaisas is the man behind the music of Nifty McSniffty, however Peter occasionally has guest musicians in his songs.
Why this name?
Formed in the late 90's after Peter's "success" in the band Metal Sniff, Nifty McSniffty started recording songs to create a side project of Metal Sniff. After moving to Florida however, Peter realized that he needed a new name for the songs he was working on and he chose the name Nifty McSniffty. The name is not a usual "metal" name for a band, but Peter chose the name to be different and people don't expect to hear such noise and feedback from a band named Nifty McSniffty.
Do you play live?
Nifty McSniffty doesn't play live right now. Maybe sometime in the future, but don't hold your breath.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yapp

After recording a few demo cd's, Peter also joined the short lived band After Seven. After Seven's style of music was to cover other bands songs and Peter wasn't into playing other people's songs and eventually After Seven disbanded. Peter's refusal to learn a Ben Harper song was the beginning of the end of After Seven and a couple weeks after, the band was finished. With Peter's work with After Seven finished, he decided to get back into writing new songs to put out a new cd which is being worked on right now. Some song titles include: The Pizza Song, A Capella Fellas, Doing Well, Doing Well (Techno Sniff 12 Pound Mayo Remix), Bob Jacobs, Mucho Insignificante, This Next One's Called, Why Do These Things Have To Be There When I Really Don't Need Those Things To Be There, Or If You'd Prefer, You Can Just Call This Song Crap and Loyd Hampson In The Forest From Beyong The Realms Of Tschingsch!
Nifty McSniffty is not to be taken seriously and if you are expecting to hear new groundbreaking sounds, you might want to find another band. If you are wanting to hear some underground noise metal with a touch of humor, then give Nifty McSniffty a listen.
Currently a one man project, Nifty McSniffty is looking to expand their sound and have other musicians offer their input. If you are a warped individual who lives near the Tampa Bay area and have a penchant for creating strange and annoying original music, get in contact with Nifty McSniffty.
