The members of The Lackies have been in the music business for several years, but it is only now that they have formed what critics are calling “the band to watch” in South Carolina. Not just critics, but fans are eating up their debut album, Itch, which was recently released under Sit N Spin Records. The album is currently being added to playlists on college radio stations all over the country, while their new video for “Under the Sky” has just finished post production. Their songwriting style has been compared to everything from Weezer to Ben Folds Five to The Beatles - and you’ll see by their cover list that they frequently pay homage to those artists, as well as many others. The band has their collective sights on the next level - recording will begin for their next album this Fall. In the meantime, find out what a lot of people are already calling one of the best live bands in the Southeast.

Why this name?
a friend of lackies guitar player Matt Morgan had the band name for a while, but had no band, so he gave it up. We ran with it from then on.
Do you play live?
yes we play live,in the south east,we are based out of the metropolis of Greenville SC
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its easy to download music and escape the part of getting music (paying for it)that pays the checks of the people promoting, advertising, pushing it in any way, but its a great promo tool and i hear a lot of music that i would not normally. I just hope that it will even out at some point so the artist gets paid but the consumer still has the benefits of easily assessable music, and the people that put up the money to get the awareness of the band out there gets there money back too.,,,,,ah a perfect world indeed
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
