I was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1982.
I moved to upstate New York in 1987. I have been writing lyrics sence I was in third grade and have been making beats for almost four years. In addition, I have been a D.J. for eight years under the alias of "D.J. Uh-Oh" in notable clubs such as Johnny D's, Hurricane Billiards, and Club Escape. I am currently out of school; however, I plan on returning to Corning Community College for my second year. I'm not a part of any specific band or group. However, I have worked with many local artists and even shared the stage with Lil Flip! I make a living selling instrumentals and occasionaly ghost-writing for different artists.
Why this name?
When I use to to battle or cypher, people would say, "damn, that kid is nice!" It creates controversy, it's simple, and marketable.
Do you play live?
I just recently, was part of an opening act for Lil' Flip on October 22, 2005 at "Club Escape" in Binghamton, New York. I have also performed live on numerous occasions at the now closed "Hurricane Billiards" and dozens of local house parties.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There are possitives and negatives... The internet is the biggest source of advertising in the country. People have the ability to hear your material online from all over the world at any time. You can easily get more exposure online then you would get performing on tour. Hoewever, the internet has hurt record sales due to piracy. Illegal distrubution, free downloading, and file sharing can contribute to record sales dropping. For instance, Dr. Dre's album, "The Chronic," sold over six million copies in the United States in the year of 1992. If the internet was as powerfull back then as it is now, his sales probably would have decreased.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, and I'm always open to ideas that can improve my ability and market value... I'm not too stubborn to say when I'm wrong, unlike half of these so called "artists" who think the business owes them for no apparent reason.
