I've been playing guitar since October 2002 or thereabouts, so I have a long way to go yet. I do love writing songs though, and I do seem to have some ability in that area. With any luck I'll continue to improve and eventually write and perform the kind of music I love to listen to. My songs are all done in my bedroom, recorded to laptop. When I work up the courage I'll book some studio time, or maybe rope in some band members.
Why this name?
I didn't want to go with my own name, so I chose a name to reflect my sound. I tend to write fairly laid-back music, so I figured Headhoney would be apt. It's probably some kind of subliminal rip-off of Radiohead and their Pablo Honey, so perhaps I'll change it eventually.
Do you play live?
I haven't played any gigs as of yet, unless you include playing to a living room packed to the rafters with 4 or 5 people. I'm still working on playing and singing at the same time, so it's no gigs for me until I get it down.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well it's clearly bad news for labels and their executives, and it may well saturate the market and make it harder for bands to get off the ground. Having said that, I am only able to record thanks to downloaded software, and SoundClick seems to be a very exciting prospect.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, it beats getting a real job.
Band History:
Members: David Welsh (Guitar, vocals)

Your influences?
I love the Pixies but I sound nothing like them. My influences are therefore simple, acoustic outfits like Turin Brakes, Jeff Buckley, Doves and and the like.
Favorite spot?
I visited Toronto in winter 2003 and loved every minute!
Equipment used:
I'll tell you anyway: An Eko full body acoustic from the 1970's, a Tanglewood Odyssey semi-acoustic, a Yamaha C-40 Spanish guitar and occassionally a Westfield Strat Copy.
Anything else...?
Don't judge me too harshly - I am getting better, I promise.
